From the roundabout in the centre of Matlock head straight up Bank Road (the steep hill). At the crossroads with the county council building to the left and The Gate Pub to the right, turn left. Approximately one hundred metres along this road take the first right turn. The Old Butcher's Cottage is on your left. Bus and train stations are situated in the centre of town, and transport from these to the cottage can be arranged. There are bus stops within fifty metres of the cottage.
